Working my way
bit by bit
towards my spiritual renewal,
after so many years gone by...
After so many years
of being overly consumed
of being overly distracted by
that which I thought I could transform.
The naivétés of my youth's zeal
have revealed to me the many follies
of my thinkings, of my ego, of my pride,
much like someone dreaming of pies in the sky...
Oh, after so many years gone by
I feel and believe myself now
to be far more experienced, far wiser,
and bit by bit, being reborn.
Be it being reborn or renewed,
tis but a matter of semantics,
what is vital, is the greater self-awareness
that I now feel that I possess...
To guide me, to enlighten me
to continue to reveal
that deep work that I must do
to renew and advance myself spiritually.
Oh, after so many years gone by
I know that I need to exercise
so much that I have learned, insighted,
and only offer the very best of myself...
To my kindred fellow man,
to my kindred fellow woman,
to all whom I may meet,
to all whom may cross my path in life.
