Two Pebbles
In a town not too far away
on a beautiful summer's day,
a man and a woman come together
on a quiet beach, down by the bay.
They exchange subtle glances
and desire true romance,
they're trying to perceive
to figure out their chances.
They smile, the woman is shy
hear his sigh, the man is high,
he's thinking about pleasures to be had
under the clearest, bluest sky.
He approaches her, very quietly
his muscles twitching in anxiety,
they look deep into each other's eyes
... stars in a galaxy.
The introductions are but whispers
against the gentle blowing breeze,
they gossip, discovering one another
and find themselves fast at ease.
She laughs at a joke he has made
and blushes at the compliments,
he sits there hypnotized, mesmerized
and wonders if she's been Heaven-sent.
The sun is shining
turning the sand to burning coals,
so they run into the water
to sooth their burning souls.
Side by side, they swim
like two graceful dolphins,
he's falling in love with her
and she with him.
They play around, teasing
caught up in the lovers' game,
and from those precious moments on
they know their lives will never be the same.
They lock arms, braced against the tide
star-struck lovers, side by side,
they run from the water
behind a dune to hide.
No need to explain what follows
for all true lovers know,
two pebbles on the beach
blow wind blow.
Two pebbles gently cushioned by the sand
two souls intertwined,
sweet seduction, hand in hand
blowing with the winds of time.
In a town not too far away
on a beautiful summer's day,
two pebbles come together
on a quiet beach, down by the bay.
