Begin by Forgiving

I know,
God I know!,
that it's always far easier
said than done.

I know,
God I know!,
that it's always far easier
to ignore one's pains and fears of moving on.

Yet,
wounds too readily set aside,
never, ever, really quite heal;
as much as we might pray that they may.

Nay,
wounds too easily dismissed
more often than not
tend to return tenfold to trouble us day to day.

What's key, I myself have learned
is that the surest way to finally move ahead
is to try one's best, one's utmost to try to forgive
all those who have wronged us, both present and past.

For as long as one keeps
locked, deep down inside, memories, emotions,
of those harms committed upon us -
our inability to forgive shall continue to keep us cast...

In those chains
which so bound us,
and so deny us
real freedom,
and so too, deny us
a fullest, richest life.

What's key, I myself have learned
is that the surest way to finally move ahead
is to try one's best, one's utmost to try to forgive
all those who have wronged us, both present and past.
