Unspoken (II)

Did I ever tell you, my dear,
that I love you so, oh so very much indeed?

Did I ever tell you, my sweet,
that you mean the world to me?

Did I ever tell you?...

Did I ever tell you, my angel, my love,
that without you, I could never survive?

Did I ever tell you, my treasure,
that without you, I am nobody, simply nobody?

Did I ever tell you?...

Did I ever tell you, my most tender one,
that youíre the best friend Iíve ever had?

Did I ever tell you,
that you are the greatest soul Iíve ever known?

Did I ever tell you?

Alas, I fear that I may never have...

I should have known better, then,
when, you loved me so very much,
despite me, despite my naivetť, my ignorance,
my hunger for fleeting joys and half-truths.

I should have known better, then,
when, you offered your body, heart and soul to me,
and being as foolish and immature as I was then,
I knew not better, and denied us both, truest love.

Alas.

Alas.

And surely, for eternity.

Alas.
